This course uses the popular game, Minecraft, as a inspirational platform for game design programming. The class will use Java in the Eclipse IDE*. Attendees will learn how to program plugins that add creative changes to the Minecraft Game through a programming interface called Bukkit.
Attendees should be familiar with Java as well as the game Minecraft. Detailed expertise in Minecraft can be provided by the end students. System setup instructions and a course outline will be provided.
*IDE = Integrated Development Environment

Terry AlexanderTerry Alexander worked as a software engineer at Intel Corporation for ten years until she made the switch to computer science education. She has been an instructor at Saturday Academy for many years, teaching programming, robotics, and physics classes including classes in computer game design.
