This class is to help you effectively incorporate 3D Printing & Digital Design into your curriculum. Computer Aided Design (CAD) is the entry point for all Fab Labs, Maker Spaces, Tech Shops and Innovation Centers. 3D Printing & Digital Design output equipment: vinyl cutters, lasers, 3D printers & scanners, 2D & 3D modeling will be covered and utilized.
Course Objectives
Participants Will: Rhino 3D, PC-V5 software (free 90 day license) will be taught and utilized for project modeling, CNC vinyl cutting and 3D printing (laser cutting if available). Participants may use other 2/3D CAD software if they are proficient with it and are fluent in the preparation of 2D file output and .STL file format BEFORE they come to class. Make sure Rhino is installed before 1st class meeting. Students are encouraged to bring their 3D printers if they have one.
Instructional Format Lecture and Lab. Mixed throughout the 3 days”

Wade SimsWade Sims is a jack of all trades: licensed CTE teacher (9.5 years), science teacher (7.5 years), cabinet builder, finish carpenter, general handyman, fiber optic cable installer. He has a BS in Biology and Special Education, and a Masters in School Administration.
