I am a retired industry software engineer, and have 14 years of experience with FIRST programs, both as a coach and key volunteer in the Oregon Tournament and Outreach Program (ORTOP). As a volunteer, I have been a judge, judge adviser, field technical adviser, trainer, and mentor to teams. At the national level, I’ve been a judge for many years, helped develop the judging process for the Control Award, helped identify and publish workarounds for Electrostatic Discharge in robots, and recently been a Control Systems Adviser for teams at the Super Regional and World Championship Tournaments.
