Congratulations to Dr. Chris Stephenson, Eugene resident and
resident Google guru of CS Education. Chris, the former (and first) executive director of the national Computer Science Teachers Association, has been awarded the Association of Computing Machinery’s Presidential Award, in recognition of her landmark work in CS education advocacy.
And, because Chris is Google’s lead on education, she recommends you check out Google’s new CS Education site with resources for all grade bands. Computer Science Custom Search is here, lets you look for particular types of curriculum/lessons/activities (and probably platforms, too.)
Google has also upgraded their Computational Thinking site. They still have one of the most accessible explanations of CT, with resources to back it up. Those resources have now been gathered into an on-line course here. I find that just reading the course syllabus is a great overview of what we mean by “Computational Thinking.”
Respectfully submitted,

Update: Thanks to Chris Stephenson for additional resources and nuance for this post. Added tags for all grade bands. Added direct link to Computer Science Custom Search.
