Just a quick update about recent past and upcoming events. On Saturday, March 18 we held our 1st professional development event of 2017. The 2017 SuperQuest Spring Conference & High School Programming Contest was a combined event held at George Fox University in Newberg, OR. I will post a recap of those events later this week. Next we had to cancel our CSForAll : What It Means and How To Bring it to Your Students pre-NCCE Conference workshop scheduled for tomorrow at the Maseeh College of Engineering and Computer Science at Portland State University. However, 3 OregonCSTA instructors will be giving workshops at this week’s NCCE Conference at the Oregon Convention Center. On Wednesday, Jason Galbraith – Computer Science Teacher at Sunset High School, will present the Incorporating Computer Science in All Classes workshop from 12:00p- 1:50p. Then on Thursday, Cady Geer – Computer Science & Engineering teacher at Sunset High School, will present the Invention and Engineering in Any Classroom workshop from 8:00a – 9:50a. Also on Thursday, Chris Winikka – Computer Science Teacher at Century High School, will present The Quest for A Gamified Computer Lab Curriculum from 9:00a – 9:50a. Registration for NCCE 2017 is still available. I, along with other OregonCSTA staff, will be in attendance at the workshops and the OregonCSTA exhibitor booth #1024 (or BIN:10000000000), so stop on by, say hello and pick up some OregonCSTA swag. 😉
