This three day workshop leads participants through a developmental sequence of instruction aimed at building competence and confidence to successfully use Google Apps in teaching, curriculum design, and professional practice.
Day 1: Google Apps Production Tools
Understand Google Drive as a functional umbrella
Use Google Docs effectively
Organize content in Google Drive
Day 2: Google Apps as a Teaching Tool
Understand Google Classroom as a content management tool
Understand the integration of Google Docs/Slides/Forms with Google Classroom
Use Google Forms as a meaningful assessment tool
Day 3: Google Apps as a Communication Tool
Determine the benefit of Google Sites as a communication tool
Create a plan for effective communication using a digital platform
Create a Google Site
Use technology as an effective tool for student feedback (Goobric)
This course is jointly taught by an elementary and a secondary teacher in a workshop model where the instructors take turns facilitating and coaching, ensuring that each participant receives a constructive blend of practical instruction and individual support. The instructors have presented together for five years and have taught this Superquest course for the last two years. The course content has been continuously updated to reflect the constant update cycle in Google Apps.
