• Day 1 & 2: Scratch & Sphero for Middle Schoolers  – We will look at Scratch, a free introductory computer programming language, that focuses on creative computing. Afterwards participants will transition to Lightning Lab, a comparable drag and drop program, and program a SPRK+ ball to navigate through a maze.
• Day 3: Code.org – This workshop will provide an intro to computer science, pedagogy, overview of the online curriculum, teacher dashboard, and strategies for teaching “unplugged” classroom activities.

Debbie is in her third year teaching 6th grade STEM and her 21st year of teaching. M.S. Environmental Science at Sherwood Middle School and Laurel Ridge Middle School.
