Jan Boley has her Bachelors of Science in Computer Science, and worked for the State of Oregon for over 8 years, as either a database programmer, or LAN Administrator. Leaving the public sector, she returned to school to earn her Masters of Arts in Teaching, and has taught high school for the last 12 years in Oregon.
Jan was able to attend the Oregon Game Project Challenge the last 6 years of her teaching career at Crescent Valley High School, in Corvallis. With teams bringing home trophies in 5 of the 6 years her teams attended, she usually took between 2 to 5 teams each year, finding the teams benefited from having others to work with and share challenges.
Still passionate about student learning, and aware of potential employment for them in diverse areas of technology in Oregon, she volunteers with OGPC to help students and coaches currently. Looking for new coaches and organizations to work with to further student exposure to technology and their success in it, Jan enjoys sharing her excitement and stories of success.
Currently, she is retiring from the Corvallis School District, and looking forward to continuing to work with the Oregon Computer Science Teachers Association, and the Oregon Game Project Challenge board in the future.
