Becka Morgan has a recent (2012) Ph.D. in Computer Science Education — her dissertation: “How does a Collaborative Community Affect Diverse Students’ Engagement with an Open Source Software Project: A Pedagogical Paradigm”.

She is an alumna of Western Oregon University, and is now an Associate Professor in the Department of Computer Science there. She teaches a wide range of freshman introductory courses, as well as upper-level courses in Open Source Software development and Programming Languages.
