I’ve been blogging here for about a month now. I started knowing nothing about WordPress, the content and formatting platform that we use. I’ve made 8 blog posts and about a dozen pages of SuperQuest information. I definitely know enough to be dangerous, and googling scraps of code results in less than predictable, beautiful, organized behavior.
I will have some in-depth meetings with the Webmaster, where we hope to make back-end structure serve front-end needs, giving you clean information in a clean format responsive to mobile devices, and giving us ease of upgrading, maintenance, and sharing the load.
And, I will be in the Web Coding class at the Wilsonville
SuperQuest, led by our esteemed Webmaster, Chris Winikka.
Here’s the course description:
Looking to build or refine a Web Design or Web Development course or unit of study? Want to enhance your own front-end development skills? The goal: expand a Professional Learning Community of Web Design/Development teachers and afficionados. Bring your personal and professional web-related goals, and we will provide the environment and dedicated time to meet your own needs. Possible topics include: HTML, CSS, Layouts, jQuery, frameworks, JavaScript, Web Apps, and more.
NOTE: A Graduate Credit option is in process. Participants wanting course credit will need to develop and submit course materials for the classroom.
Chris Winikka began his teaching career in Language Arts, and became enthralled by the new media possibilities that technology brings. In his own words, “I am equal parts teacher and student of computer science and web design. I teach students through demonstrations, online exercises, and projects using online tools such as Schoology, YouTube, CamTasia, Edpuzzle, Kahoot, and more.” Contact Chris via cwinikka@gmail.com.
Chris will also be teaching Web Coding at West Salem, Pendleton, and Newport.
Respectfully submitted,
